YCAP / IBA Symposium, Toronto, on 29 May 2014

YCAP will be co-hosting a symposium with the IBA’s young practitioners group – IBA Arb40 – in Toronto. The symposium will feature an interactive presentation on the virtues of pursuing investment treaty arbitration versus international commercial arbitration, and an examination of the differences between both dispute resolution mechanisms with respect to provisional measures, jurisdiction, remedies against the award and enforcement, transparency, etc:

The YCAP/IBA Arb40 Symposium will coincide with the IBA Arbitration Committee’s North American Forum which is being held in Toronto on 29-30 May 2014 (further details on www.ibanet.org). The theme of the Forum is “International Arbitration Today: First Principles, Current Practices, Latest Trends” and topics include party automony and its limits, selecting the members of the Tribunal and the enforcement of awards.
