YCAP Spring Symposium - 17 June 2010 in Ottawa
The YCAP Spring Symposium has been scheduled for Thursday, 17 June 2010 in Ottawa. The topic for the symposium will focus on a discussion of the impact of the Yugraneft case, which considers limitation periods in international arbitration. More details will follow closer to the date.
Scholarship available for the 2010 IBA Annual Conference in Vancouver
The Dispute Resolution Section of the IBA will be awarding a scholarship to a young lawyer who wishes to participate in the IBA Annual Conference in Vancouver on October 3-8, 2010, but may find financial difficulties in doing so. The scholarship award for 2010 includes the following:
• Free registration for the IBA 2010 Annual Conference, 3-8 October 2010, Vancouver, Canada.
• A contribution towards travel costs to the conference.
• A contribution towards accommodation costs while attending the conference.
• Two year's free membership of the IBA, LPD and PPID including membership of one committee within the awarding section and one free PPID committee.
• A waiver of either the next IBA Annual Conference registration fee or the registration fee of one of the chosen committees' specialist conferences.
• Free membership of the Scholarship Alumni Group.

YAP Eighth Colloquium - 26 May 2010 in Rio de Janeiro
Immediately following the ICCA Congress, the eighth Colloquium organized by Young Arbitration Practitioners (YAP) will take place on May 26, 2010 in Rio de Janeiro at the Sofitel Rio. It will be hosted by the Comite Brasileiro de Arbitragem (Brazilian Arbitration Committee, "CBAr") and supported by several young arbitration practitioners' groups including YCAP. The topic of the 2010 YAP Conference will be "Arbitration in Changing Times". As with previous YAP Symposia, the format of this event will leave room for discussion and will be followed by a cocktail reception. This year we will have the pleasure of debating under the guidance of V.V. Veeder and Guillermo Aguillar-Alvarez. A detailed programme may be downloaded by clicking here.
