John Siwiec is an Associate with the Litigation and International Arbitration group at Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP in Ottawa. He has experience in complex contractual disputes including those arising from large construction projects, shareholders’ agreements, and the sale of goods and services as well as in the recognition and enforcement of international arbitration awards and foreign judgments. John has taught a course at the University of Ottawa’s Law Faculty in international arbitration and co-coaches the University’s Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration moot team.

Sarah McEachern is a partner in BLG’s International Trade and Arbitration Group specializing in helping clients find solutions to complex commercial disputes. She has experience with a variety of arbitral rules and institutions, including the ICC, LCIA, AAA, ICDR, BCICAC, and SCC Rules. She practices in all areas of commercial arbitration, from the initial drafting of arbitration clause in contracts, to obtaining interim measures in court, to arbitration preparation and hearings, and finally to enforcing the award in court. She first studied international commercial arbitration while on exchange in Hong Kong and later participated in the Singapore International Arbitration Academy.

Alexandra Mitretodis is a litigation dispute and resolution lawyer at Fasken in Vancouver with a practice in commercial litigation, international and domestic arbitration, and competition law. Alexandra has experience with cases under various arbitration rules, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre (BCICAC). Alexandra is fluent in English and French and has a reading knowledge of Spanish. Alexandra is also the Regional Chapter Coordinator for Western Canada for ICC YAF.

Jessica Crow is a Senior Associate in Vinson & Elkins LLP's International Dispute Resolution practice group. Her practice focuses on complex commercial arbitration, investment treaty disputes and public international law. She acts as counsel to multinational corporations, States and State-owned entities across a wide range of industry sectors, with a particular focus on arbitrations in the oil & gas sector. Jessica is familiar with all of the major institutional rules and has particular experience under the LCIA, ICC, SCC, ICSID and UNCITRAL Rules. Jessica recently concluded a six month secondment with a leading EPC company focused on oil and gas projects.

She has experience acting as counsel to a state in relation to an investment dispute, and has also acted as tribunal secretary in a complex construction dispute in Eastern Europe. Prior to joining BD&P, Joanne clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal and worked at the Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade. Joanne has published articles and book chapters in the areas of international commercial arbitration and securities litigation.
