John Siwiec is an Associate with the Litigation and International Arbitration group at Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP in Ottawa. He has experience in complex contractual disputes including those arising from large construction projects, shareholders’ agreements, and the sale of goods and services as well as in the recognition and enforcement of international arbitration awards and foreign judgments. John has taught a course at the University of Ottawa’s Law Faculty in international arbitration and co-coaches the University’s Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration moot team.

Sarah McEachern is a partner in BLG’s International Trade and Arbitration Group specializing in helping clients find solutions to complex commercial disputes. She has experience with a variety of arbitral rules and institutions, including the ICC, LCIA, AAA, ICDR, BCICAC, and SCC Rules. She practices in all areas of commercial arbitration, from the initial drafting of arbitration clause in contracts, to obtaining interim measures in court, to arbitration preparation and hearings, and finally to enforcing the award in court. She first studied international commercial arbitration while on exchange in Hong Kong and later participated in the Singapore International Arbitration Academy.

Alexandra Mitretodis is an Associate with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP in Vancouver. She is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group and the International Arbitration Group. Alexandra has experience with cases under various arbitration rules, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre (BCICAC). Alexandra has published articles, bulletins and blogs on various arbitration topics.

Joseph Chedrawe is counsel with Vinson & Elkins LLP in Dubai. Joseph specializes in both commercial and construction disputes and has acted as both party-appointed and sole arbitrator in arbitrations under the DIAC rules. Joseph has also worked in England, South Africa and Canada where he practised for a number of years with a leading Canadian law firm and was a law clerk at the Federal Court of Canada. Joseph has published several articles, case comments and conference papers on a range of dispute resolution topics. He has also worked as a vice dean and lecturer in law at the University of Oxford.

Joanne Luu is an Associate with Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP in Calgary. She has experience acting as counsel to a state in relation to an investment dispute, and has also acted as tribunal secretary in a complex construction dispute in Eastern Europe. Prior to joining BD&P, Joanne clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal and worked at the Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade. Joanne has published articles and book chapters in the areas of international commercial arbitration and securities litigation.
